JUNE 23 JULY 28 SEP 1 GALL, BEEZLEY, FELTNER AND HYLIARD ALL GRAB FEATURE CHECKERS
John Gall in Winged Sprint Cars, Tommy Beezley in UMP
Modifieds, Dwayne Feltner in Sportsman and Dustin Hyliard in Street Stocks all
flew to feature wins at Butler Motor Speedway.
On Memorial Weekend
everyone has a chance to reflect on those who have passed and at Butler it's no
different. Pre race ceremonies would see
a colors presentation, a reading of the past racers and employees at Butler who have passed on,
a nice invocation, a great live singing of the National Anthem, the playing of
TAPS and a 21 gun salute to the fallen.
With the pre race
ceremonies in the books, it was time to go racing. The UMP Modified feature would roll out first
with Mike Tarlton and Eric Swan bringing the field to green with Tarlton
jumping into the lead. A lap 3 yellow
would wave for Mike Langdon coming to a stop in turn 1. Back to green with Talton in the lead and
Tommy Beezley in 2nd. The
yellow would wave right away after
contact would send the car of Mark Pifer spinning. With the field back to green, the race would
be for the lead as Tarlton and Beezley would begin working different lines
looking for the advantage. Swan would
run 3rd while Corey Bevard ran 4th. On the 14th circuit, Beezley would
slide by Tarlton for the lead. A lap 16
spin by Brandon Ordway would slow the field.
The race would go back to green until Josh Lolmaugh would slide off the
top of turns 3 and 4 bringing out the yellow.
Back to green and Tarlton would have one more chance at Beezley, but at
the checkers it would be Beezley winning his 3rd feature of the
season over Tarlton, Swan, Rich Robinson and Jake Rendel. Heat race wins went to Swan, Jake Bailey,
Beezley and Tarlton, while Dave VanGuilder grabbed the B main.
3 TIME A MAIN WINNER IN 2012 TOMMY BEEZLEY
The Sportsman
feature would roll out onto the 3/8 mile with Wes Bates and Dwayne Feltner
leading the field to green. The start
wasn't what the flagman wanted, so we had a complete restart, with Feltner
getting the lead. The field would slow
for a lap 5 spin for Bates and Jarrett Rendel.
On the restart, the yellow would wave for a spin by Jonathan Bell. Back
to green with Feltner leading and Tim Wilber, Jake Rendel and Steve Langdon in
tow. Lap 9 would see Wilber slow and
retire to the pits. The field would slow
again for a lap 11 spin by Bell,
ending his night. Back to green and
Feltner would race to his 1st feature win of the 2012 season,
followed by Jake Rendel, Langdon, Jarrett Rendel and Bates. Heat races were won by Wilber and Jake
Rendel.
DWAYNE FELTNER WON THE SPORTSMAN FEATURE.
The Winged Sprint
Car feature would roll out next and would get off to an interesting start as
contact while lining up would see Tim Evilsizer end up upside down. Evilsizer was fine, but he retired the car
for the night. John Gall and Chris Jones
would bring the field to green, with Gall leading. A lap 4 yellow would fly for the spinning Josh
Mohr. Back to green with Gall leading
and Doug Zimmerman in 2nd, with Jones slotting into 3rd,
only to see a lap 5 yellow wave for debris.
Gall would get back to the lead until a lap 15 caution for a slowing
Brandon Hyliard, as the field charged to the frontstretch, contact between
Gerry Hart and Len Robison would see the two spinning into the inside
wall. Back under green with Gall
leading, until lap 19 when Ryan Kirkendall spun collecting Mike Burns. At the checkers it would be Gall winning his
first Butler
feature over Zimmerman, Jones, Matt Merrill and Chad Hart. Heat wins went to Zimmerman, Troy Chehowski,
and Hart while Robison won the B main.
JOHN GALL WINGED SPRINT FEATURE WINNER
The Street Stock
feature would be the last feature race of the night with Troy Patton and Matt
Rose leading the field to green. The
caution would wave for a spinning Troy Patton.
Back to green and Dustin Hyliard would waste little time jumping from
his 4th starting position to get the lead, with Terry Milliman in 2nd
and Matt Rose in 3rd. The
yellow would fly on lap 7 as Elzie Kipp would slow in turn 4. The field would run back to the green until a
lap 10 spin for Lacy Notestine. Back to
green, and Kevin Butters would get around Milliman for 2nd and set
his sails for Hyliard. Hyliard would not
be beaten as he would capture his 1st feature win of 2012 over
Butters, Milliman, Rose and Dallas Prater.
Heat race wins went to Milliman, Butters, Hyliard and Patton. The B main would see a familiar last name, but
a different first name as Kyle Kulikowski would capture a popular win.
