A TWEAK TO THE SCHEDULE HAS BEEN DONE.  IT EFFECTS NONE OF THE REGULAR 4 IN 1 CLASSES.  BUTLER HAS ADDED THE MINI SPRINT CLASS TO 4 NIGHTS OF THE REGULAR 4 IN 1 SHOWS, TO MAKE THEM 5 IN 1 SHOWS.  DATES FOR THOSE SHOWS ARE AS FOLLOWS:
JULY 28
SEP 1

LAY, WILBER AND RENDEL ALL GRAB FEATURE CHECKERS

Brian Lay in Winged Sprint Cars, Tim Wilber in UMP Modifieds and Sportsman, and Jake Rendel in Street Stocks all flew to feature wins at Butler Motor Speedway.

Butler Motor Speedway would like to thank the Hooters girls from Kalamazoo for stopping by the race track

The UMP Modified feature would be the first feature event to hit the speedway with Tim Wilber and Jake Rendel leading the field to green.  The yellow would wave immediately as contact would see Corey Bevard head to the pits with a flat tire. The filed would go back to green and with Wilber leading and Josh Lolmaugh 2nd the yellow would wave for a spin by Zeke McKenzie, collecting James Hadley.   Wilber would continue to lead over Lolmaugh when the yellow would wave for a lap 12 spin by Doug McLachlan.  Back to green with Wilber leading, Tommy Beezley would move his way to 4th ahead of Randy Lines when the yellow would fly for a 2 car tangle with McKenzie and Bevard.  The race would run to the checkers from here with Wilber collecting the feature win over Lolmaugh, Beezley, Rendel and Lines.  Heat race wins went to Beezley, Steve Shellenberger, Lolmaugh and Mike Tarlton.  Chad Clay would grab the B main.

The Street Stock feature would roll out next with Jarrett Rendel and Jeff Hinkley Jr leading the field to green.  Hinkley would jump out to the lead until a lap 5 yellow for Lacy Notestine stopping in turn 2.  Back to green, Hinkley would lead over Sheryll Dishaw and Jarrett Rendel, while 16th starting Jake Rendel had charged to 4th.  Jake Rendel would move past Hinkley and into the lead until a lap13 yellow for David Collins Jr and Chris Garrett.  Both cars suffered mechanical failures and were done for the night.  The race would run to the checkers from here with current point leader Jake Rendel winning over Hinkley Jr, Dishaw, Kevin Butters and Dustin Hyliard.  Heat race wins went to Garrett, Jake Rendel and Terry Milliman.

The Winged Sprint Car feature would roll out next with Scott Hull and Brian Lay bringing the field to green.  Two complete restarts would be needed before Hull would jump to the lead.  The lead would be short lived as Lay would motor by during the 2nd circuit.  Chris Jones would work by Hull also when the caution would fly on lap 9 for a spinning Ryan Kirkendall.  Lay would jump back out to the lead while 8th starting Chad Blonde would  work by Hull into 3rd.  A Lap 16 yellow would wave for a spin by Chris Jones.  Jones would keep the car running, but Aaron Huff would spin to avoid contact and stop.  Lay would continue to lead over Blonde when yellow would fly on lap 19 for Bill Jacoby off the backstretch.  The green would wave until lap 20 when Matt Merrill would sail off turn 4 and come to a stop.  The race would go green the rest of the way with Brian Lay picking up the win over Blonde, Hull, Aaron Shaffer and Doug Zimmerman.  Hull and Blonde would win the heats.

The final feature event of the night would be for the Sportsman class.  Steve Langdon and Deuane Morley would bring the field to green, with Langdon jumping out to the lead.  The yellow would wave on lap 7 for debris on the track.  Langdon would continue to lead until lap 11 when Wilber would move around Langdon.  The yellow would wave on lap 16 for a spinning Jarrett Rendel.  Wilber would go on to win the feature over Jake Rendel, Langdon, Wes Bates and Dwayne Feltner.  Heat race wins went to Wilber and Fred VanEvey.

Upcoming events will see the Josh Hadley Memorial Mid Season Championships on July 7.  Trophies are given out to the winners and they also do a kids bicycle give away on that night.

Then on July 14th, Butler will have the FIREWORKS, along with the racing program.  If you haven’t been to a Butler Fireworks program then it is a must see event.  Make sure to get to the Speedway early as this event always fills the stands up, and if you get there late, you may not find a place to sit.
