A TWEAK TO THE SCHEDULE HAS BEEN DONE.  IT EFFECTS NONE OF THE REGULAR 4 IN 1 CLASSES.  BUTLER HAS ADDED THE MINI SPRINT CLASS TO 4 NIGHTS OF THE REGULAR 4 IN 1 SHOWS, TO MAKE THEM 5 IN 1 SHOWS.  DATES FOR THOSE SHOWS ARE AS FOLLOWS:
SEP 1

ZIMMERMAN, MILLER, FELTNER, HINKLEY AND JACKSON CAPTURE FEATURE WINS.

Doug Zimmerman in Winged Sprint Cars, Brett Miller in UMP Modifieds, Dwayne Feltner in Sportsman, Jeff Hinkley Jr in Street Stocks and Eric Jackson in Mini Sprints all grabbed the feature checkers and trophies at Butler Motor Speedway.

The first feature event to make its way to the speedway would be the Mini Sprints where Nick Nelson would jump to an early lead.  The yellow would wave for a lap 2 spin by Walter Coehn.  Back to green with Nelson leading, when Eric Jackson would make his way by on lap 4.  A lap 6 caution would wave for debris.  Back to green with Jackson leading with Derek Donaldson in tow for 2nd.  The yellow would wave for a lap 9 yellow for  a Scott Waldron spin setting up a shoot out to the finish between Jackson and Donaldson.  Back to green and Jackson would not be denied and went on to claim the feature win over Donaldson, Brandon Hagar and Brad Underwood.  Brandon Hagar would win the heat race.

The UMP Modified feature would roll off next for there feature event.  It would be an all Miller front row with Brett on the pole and Louis on the outside.  Brett would jump out to the early lead.  Several single car cautions for spins or flat tires would take place, but at the checker it would be Brett Miller leading wire to wire.  Following Miller to the stripe would be Josh Lolmaugh, Tim Wilber, Jake Bailey and Louis Miller.  Heat races went to Doug McLachlan, Bob Coats, Tim Wilber and Terry Wilber.  Jake Rendel would capture the B main.

The Street Stock class would roll onto the 3/8 mile next with Bob Hill and Matt Rose leading the field to green.  Hill would jump out to the lead, only to be the first yellow as the car would go up in smoke.  A complete restart would see Levi Collins taking the lead until lap 4 when Terry Milliman would get by.  Jeff Hinkley Jr would get by Milliman and go on to the victory over Chris Garrett, Sheryll Dishaw, Jake Rendel and Brian Judd.  Heat races went to Jake Rendel, Hinkley, Keith Hiller and Garrett while Robert VanderPloeg captured the B main.

The Winged Sprint Car feature would see Josh Mohr and Doug Zimmerman lead the field to green.  The race would be red flagged on the first lap for a tangle that saw Len Robison and Andy Chehowski flipping.  Both drivers were ok, but the cars were finished for the night.  Zimmerman would lead on the restart when a lap 6 yellow would fly for a multi car crash involving Ryan Ruhl, Josh Turner, Mike Baker, Billy Wease and Chad Wilson.  Zimmerman would continue to lead and a couple yellows for single car spins would not keep the Butler veteran from capturing his second consecutive feature win over Mohr.  Chris Jones, Ryan Ruhl and Kevin Atkins would round out the top 5.  Heat races went to Chad Wilson, Zimmerman and Len Robison with Andy Teunessen winning the B main.

The Sportsman feature would see Dwayne Feltner and Logan Beckwith bringing the field to green.  The race would be red flagged as Fred VanEvey would get crossed up and take a big hit in the door.  Fred was ok, but finished for the night.  Feltner would hold off all the challengers and capture the feature win ahead of Beckwith.  Tim Wilber, Steve Langdon and Jake Rendel would round out the top 5.  Heat races were won by Feltner and Wilber.

Butler continues the season this Saturday Aug 4 with a full 4 in 1 program of Winged Sprint Cars, UMP Modifieds, Sportsman and Street Stocks.

Other upcoming dates of interest include Aug 18, with the return of the All Stars Circuit of Champions Sprint Cars.  Then on Sep 1, the rescheduled date for the July Fireworks show will take place.  The July Fireworks show was postponed due to the township burn bans that had been put into place during the dry spell.  The Sep 1 show will also see a full 5 in 1 racing program as the Mini Sprints are scheduled to participate that night as well.
